Kiss and Go
What Is Kiss & Go?
Why was Kiss & Go Created?
ITS’s new location is on a busy street (Florida Ave with limited access to parking directly in front of the school. Kiss & Go was created to provide a safe, orderly and efficient way for students who are driven to school to be dropped-off in the morning.
When is Kiss & Go Open?
Kiss & Go will be open daily from 8:30 to 9:00 am
How Does it Work?
Am I supposed to use Kiss & Go? I like walking my child into school.
Kiss & Go is certainly not the only way to go. However, limited parking and busy morning schedules make this a very effective and efficient way of getting your children into school. We love it when parents and guardians walk-in with students. If this is your plan, you might snag a lucky spot across on Florida Ave. or one of the near by cross streets (13th and 14th).
How Can I get Involved?
Sign-up to be a Kiss & Go volunteer! It’s a fun and positive way to start the day (parents will thank you!) and it only takes 30 minutes. Routine volunteering is certainly appreciated but not necessary.
Who runs Kiss & Go?
Kiss & go is made possible by ITS Staff and family volunteers like YOU! Sign up for a morning shift.
For more information about the Kiss & Go Morning Drop-off procedures please see the brochure posted on the IFA Bulletin Board in the school lobby.
- Kiss & Go is a safe and convenient way for you to drop-off your child (generally Kindergarten and older) on those mornings where you drive to school and cannot walk in with him/her.
- The Kiss & Go lane runs directly in front of the school on Florida Ave.
- Please drop-off students at Kiss & Go starting at 8:30. ITS Staff and parent volunteers are there to help from 8:30-9 a.m.
- To ensure that the lane is clear for drop-offs please do not park directly in front of the school while the Kiss & Go is open.

How Does it Work?
- Kiss & Go staff (one ITS staff member and 2 or 3 parent volunteers) will be waiting on the sidewalk in front of the school building to help students exit their vehicles and get safely escort into the school building
- Kindergarten – 5th grade students will be escorted to the front door where they are expected to walk themselves to class once inside the building. This means that families need to be confident that their students will successfully navigate themselves to class when using this service. They may stop at the front desk to pickup breakfast on the way to their own classrooms.
- Preschool and PreK students will be escorted directly to their classrooms. Kiss and Go volunteers are not responsible for picking up breakfast for preschool and PreK students.
- Students exit vehicles directly to the sidewalk (not in the middle of the street)
- Students can ask assistance in exiting their vehicle from a kiss & go volunteer (the driver does not need to park or get out of the vehicle)
- Vehicles do not get caught up in gridlock traffic around the school while competing for limited parking spaces
- Pull up curbside (e.g. out of the traffic lane) directly in front of the school building on Florida Ave.Kiss & Go volunteers are happy to help grab gear from the front/back seats so that you can remain in your vehicle and keep the line moving. Just let us know how we can help!
- For safety sake please do not drop-off students in the middle of Florida Ave. or across the street from the school.
- Note: Parents and guardians should keep in mind that Kiss & Go is most appropriate for those students who are Kindergarten grade and older. Parents/guardians of Preschool and PreK age students are strongly encouraged to allow time to park (if driving) and walk their students to class. However, if a Preschool or PreK student arrives via Kiss & Go, a volunteer will walk him/her to class and sign them in.
